Rajasthan govt not to disinvest in Chhabra, Kalisindh thermal plants

Jaipur, 26 June (IANS) The Congress government in Rajasthan has decided not to disinvest in Chhabra and Kalisindh thermal power plants, as their operational capacity and financial health have remarkably improved.

The previous BJP government had decided to disinvest in the two power plants.

At a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the government also cleared a proposal related to constitution of an independent registered Social Auditing Society for monitoring schemes of the rural development and panahcayati raj department. 

The move is aimed at bringing about more transparency and accountability.

The proposals related to amendment in the rule 75 of Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1996 were also approved.

The ex-gratia grant in case of death of a government employee during election duty has been increased. 

In natural death case, the ex gratia grant has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh while in case of the death of employee in terror attack, bomb blast, road mines blast; and violence during the election duty, the ex-gratia grant has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.

In case of permanent disability of an employee during election duty in normal conditions, the ex-gratia grant has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh while in case of permanent disability in terror attack, bomb blast, road mines blast; and violence during the election duty, the ex gratia grant has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.

The cabinet also approved a proposal to transfer the assets of Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) as on March 31, 2016 to Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water Sewerage & Infrastructure Corporation Limited(RUDSICO) at the token money of Re one. 

RUIDP was merged with RUDSICO on April 1, 2016.

The state cabinet approved the draft of the Rajasthan Lokayukta and Up-Lokayuktas (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
