VISAKHAPATNAM : As the state is reeling under the scorching heat, meteorology officials on Sunday said that a trough running from West
Bengal to south Odisha may result in moderate rains and thunderstorms in isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
However, they said that the maximum temperature are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius at a few
places in Rayalaseema for next two days.
"A trough persists from west Vidarbha to Coastal Karnataka across Telangana and north interior Karnataka extending upto 0.9 km above the mean sea level. It now runs from West Bengal to south Odisha extending up to 0.9 km above the mean
sea level. Under the influence of such weather conditions, there might be thunderstorm in a few places over Coastal
AP," said an official of Cyclone Warning Centre, Vizag on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures in Coastal AP remained the same, while the same over Rayalaseemarose to 1 to 2
degrees Celsius above the normal. The highest temperature of 43 degrees Celsius was recorded at Anantapur, followed by
42 degrees in Kurnool and 41 degrees in Nellore.
