Cm Chandrababu sets June 2 deadline

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to take steps towards achieving 100 per cent cooking gas connections supply by June 2. Participating in a review meeting with officials of civil supplies department at the Interim Secretariat at Velagapudi here on Tuesday, he asked the officials to prevent kerosene in domestic consumption.

Reacting on the data provided by officials that still 28 lakh families are not having LPG connection, he directed the officials to supply gas connections as per the requirement by discussing with officials of oil companies. The Chief Minister gave a target to officials to provide 12 lakh gas connections by the end of this month and remaining 16 lakh gas connections should be provided to consumers by May.

Pointing out that the States like Haryana, Punjab and Delhi were providing cooking gas to all the families, he said AP would be the biggest State in the country in extending such facility. On this occasion, the officials explained that 1.57 lakh gas connections should be secured at a cost of Rs 45 crore for exclusively providing a 5-kg cylinder for each tribal family in the State.
Integrated health record system: Chief Minister N Chandrababu asked the officials to introduce integrated health record system in all the government hospitals across the State.

Participating in a review meeting with officials of health department, he said that the maintenance of record is more useful to patients in providing treatment.Centre withdraws subsidy on sugar: The Chief Minister asked the officials to discuss with Centre on continuing subsidy on sugar supply.

He said the sugar supply should be continued without any price changes for this month in the State even as the Centre withdrew the subsidy. The Centre had withdrawn subsidy of Rs 20 per each kg of sugar.

The Chief Minister said the government would study the food supply requirements area-wise. He said pulses would be supplied under the PDS.The officials were instructed to encourage cashless transactions under PDS scheme. He said the officials should discuss with the bankers in successfully implementing cashless transactions under the system.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that districts like East Godavari and West Godavari were on top in utilising the cashless transactions in the PDS. Naidu asked them to encourage cashless transactions by offering cash prizes.Civil Supplies Commissioner B Rajasekhar and CMO secretary Pradyumna were also present.
