From Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ to Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’, to Mohit Raina starrer ‘Mumbai Diaries’ this week's offerings will delight you, and promise to entertain with a diverse range of captivating content.
Here's a list of six titles on various OTT platforms that have caught the attention of IANS this week.
‘Gadar 2’:
‘Gadar 2’ is directed and produced by Anil Sharma, and written by Shaktimaan Talwar. It is a sequel to the 2001 film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’.
The film stars Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, and Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet, reprising their roles from the first film. It also features Gaurav Chopra, Manish Wadhwa, Luv Sinha, and Dolly Bindra in pivotal roles.
‘Gadar 2’ was theatrically released on August 11, and became a commercial success. It will now premiere on Zee5 on October 6.
‘OMG 2’:
Actors Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer comedy drama ‘OMG 2’ is written and directed by Amit Rai. The movie talks about sex education in India. It also stars Yami Gautam, Pavan Malhotra, Govind Namdev, Arun Govil, and Brijendra Kala among others.
The film weaves humour and thought-provoking themes into an unforgettable cinematic experience. It is a spiritual sequel to 2012 movie ‘OMG- Oh My God’.
Presented by Viacom18 Studios, in association with Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo Films, ‘OMG 2’ is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Jyoti Deshpande, Ajit Andhare, Swaroop Paresh Rawal, Hema A. Thakkar, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, and Rajesh Bahl.
‘OMG 2’ will be streaming on Netflix on October 8.
‘Mumbai Diaries’ season 2:
Directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the production of Emmay Entertainment, 'Mumbai Diaries 2' is a medical drama which is about staff of the Bombay General Hospital dealing with the floods affecting the city and its people.
The show stars Mohit Raina in the lead, who plays Dr Kaushik Oberoi, Head of Trauma Surgery at the Bombay General Hospital. Konkona Sen Sharma plays Dr Chitra Das in the series, who is the director of Social Services at Bombay General Hospital.
‘Mumbai Diaries 2' also features Shreya Dhanwantary, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey and Mrunmayee Deshpande in pivotal roles.
The first season of 'Mumbai Diaries 26/11' released on September 9, 2021. The eight episodic series will premiere on October 6 on Prime Video.
‘Khufiya’:
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, ‘Khufiya’ stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi and Azmeri Haque Badhon. It is based on true events and is based on a book ‘Escape to Nowhere’, written by the former Chief of the Counter Espionage Unit of R&AW, Amar Bhushan.

‘Loki’ season 2:
The second season of the American series is based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name, sees Loki working with Mobius M Mobius, Hunter B-15, and other members of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to navigate the multiverse in order to find Sylvie, Ravonna Renslayer, and Miss Minutes. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The season is produced by Marvel Studios, with Eric Martin serving as head writer, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead leading the directing team. Tom Hiddleston stars as Loki, Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Renslayer), Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15), Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Neil Ellice, Jonathan Majors, and Owen Wilson (Mobius).
It also features Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Ke Huy Quan. The second season will stream on Disney plus on October 5.
‘Mistress’:
It’s a Korean drama, that follows the lives of four women in their 30s as they navigate complex relationships and embark on journeys of self-discovery together. After Jan Se Yeon's husband's fatal accident, she and her daughter face unsettling phone calls and mysterious occurrences. Psychologist Kim Eun Soo confronts her own dark secrets when her ex-boyfriend's son becomes her patient.
High school teacher Han Jung Won's life unravels post a one-night stand, and secretary Do Hwa Young is drawn into intrigue as her law firm represents her ex-boyfriend's wife, seeking evidence of infidelity.
