Patna, Dec 3 (IANS) Patna SSP Upendra Sharma has gone into damage control mode over Bihar Labour Minister Jibesh Mishra's vehicle stopping row.

The Bihar Minister's car was stopped by security personnel at the gate of the Vidhan Sabha for the DM and the Patna SSP to pass on Thursday.

On Thursday night, the SSP went to Mishra' official residence on Harding Road and assured him of action against the erring officials.

Two union ministers and two top leaders of Dehli's BJP unit called up Mishra after the incident, sources in the saffron party said.

Mishra told the union ministers that he was ready to step back from his stand that he will not join the Assembly till action is taken against the security personnel who stopped his car but it would turn out to be a disaster for the BJP.

The "self-respect" of the BJP ministers in the BJP-JD (U) government in the state will get deeply hurt, the Labour Minister claimed.

Post this incident, Mishra became the voice of the BJP MLAs and ministers who always allege that they have "no value against the current bureaucrats of the state".

As per the CCTV footage, the Chief Minister's convoy passed from the gate at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The SUV of Mishra arrived at the gate after that. The security personnel present at the gate stopped his SUV to give smooth passage to Sharma and DM Chandrasekhar Singh. Seven vehicles which were part of the convoy of the SSP and the DM, crossed the gate. Sharma was sitting in the SUV while Singh was not present in his car.

The CCTV footage substantiated the Labour Minister's claim, post which the JD(U) top leadership directed Sharma and Singh to contact Mishra and handle the issue.

Both the officers called up Mishra for meeting him over 15 times but he refused to attend to the calls.

Later, Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad met him and asked for a meeting with the SSP and DM.

Bihar Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vijay Sinha had already directed the state government to submit an investigation report.

Sharma is considered one of the favourite officers of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Hence, he is posted as SSP in Patna.
