Tamil Nadu CM Stalin to Leave for Coimbatore after Army Helicopter Crash

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin will leave for  Coimbatore this evening after a military helicopter crashed between Coimbatore and Coonoor.  Stalin will leave for Coimbatore at five o'clock in the evening. From there Stalin would go to Wellington Military Hospital.


An Army helicopter carrying General Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defence Staff of India, crashed in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. According to the information received, CDS Bipin Rawat's wife Madhulika Rawat has lost her life. His condition seems to be critical. 14 people were on board including Bipin Rawat, his crew and family members. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh explained the situation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Army, Police and Firefighters rushed to the crash scene and carried out the rescue operations. The Helicopter departed from the Army Center in Willington. Seems like Three of them were rescued and taken to hospital. The Indian Air Force has confirmed the accident. Two people died on  the spot in the incident.
