Child shot dead in attempt of chasing away elephant herd

A two-year-old child has died in an attempt to chase away an elephant herd in Assam's Kamrup district. But the incident came to light late. Elephants roam the Bondapara area of ??Boko Haram in Assam's Kamrup district. Forest personnel have been trying for days to clear them. They opened fire with guns on Thursday night to threaten the elephants in the order.

With that, a bullet accidentally hit the body of a child sitting in front of a house near there. The mother was also injured. The guards immediately rushed the two to a local hospital. But doctors have already confirmed that the baby is dead. The condition of the baby's mother was also critical. She is being treated at Guwahati Medical College for better treatment.
