Lorry Carrying Gas Cylinders Collides with a Bus... 16 killed, 26 injured

Tragic road accident near Pakur in Jharkhand. Sixteen people were killed and 26 were seriously injured when a lorry carrying gas cylinders collided with a bus. The accident took place at around 8.30 am on Wednesday at Paderkola village on the Govindpur-Sahebganj state highway, Amrap police said.

The bus, carrying 40 passengers, was traveling from Barharwa in Sahibganj district to Jaisidi in Deogarh district, police said. The death toll has risen to 16 and the number of injured has risen to 26. Three of the injured are in critical condition, said Pakur Civil Surgeon RD Paswan.

The injured were reported to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ajit Kumar. The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
