Gurugram, Feb 5 (IANS) A team of Gurugram Police crime branch has arrested a woman and her friend for allegedly killing a man, the police said on Friday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Gulsan (35) and Naeem Alvi alias Musharraf (22) -- residents of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Ikrar.

The deceased's tiffin box, mobile phone, a motorcycle used in the crime and the culprit's mobile phones have been recovered by the investigation team.

The woman disclosed before the police that her husband Ibrahim and the victim Ikrar used to drink together which she dislikes.

"The woman thought that due to Ikrar's provocation, her husband Ibrahim used to stay with brothers and not with her. So, she hatched a conspiracy with Naeem, who was working at her junkyard shop to kill Ikrar so that she can live with her husband," Assistant Commissioner of police, Preet Pal Sangwan said.

Ikrar was strangulated with a muffler and the body was thrown into brushes on Gurugram-Faridabad road.

"A case of murder was registered at the Sushant Lok police station. The woman has been sent to judicial custody while her friend is on police remand," he said.
