Faizabad (Afghanistan), Feb 6 (IANS) A total of 60 Afghan cadets after receiving training were commissioned to the police force in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province, Maazudin Ahmadi, Provincial Head of the Information and Culture Department, has said.

All the youths received a 50-day military training during which the cadets were taught how to use light weapons and behave with the people to keep law and order, according to the official.

This is the third time that young people of Badakhshan province, after receiving military training and police discipline in the provincial capital Faizabad city, have been deployed across the mountainous province, he added on Saturday.

Efforts are underway to improve professionalism of the police and build capacity of police personnel since the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban in August 2021, Xinhua news agency reported.
