AC compressor blast kills technician in Gurugram

Gurugram, April 1 (IANS) A 45-year-old technician, who used to repair air-conditioners, died in a compressor blast on Friday morning, an official said.

The incident occurred in Manohar Nagar near Pataudi Chowk in Gurugram.

The victim, identified as Sanjay, was asleep when the incident took place.

According to people who live in the locality, they heard a loud explosion and saw the technician's house on fire.

A Fire brigade official Devender Kumar said they got a call from locals about a fire at a house. They took two hours to douse the flames.

The victim sustained severe burn injuries in the incident.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained, he added.
