Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 25 (IANS) With the Lok Sabha polls round the corner and the Pinarayi Vijayan government completing its halfway mark, the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), an ally of the Congress-led UDF, is unhappy over the performance of the Opposition.

Former State Labour Minister and state RSP chief Shibhu Baby John made his displeasure known and said that the opposition was not making the desired interventions to further expose the Vijayan government.

“The people of Kerala are thoroughly disgusted with the Vijayan government that has been in office since 2016. Every sector in the state has been badly affected due to the misgovernance and it is here the Opposition UDF has not taken full advantage of this to get closer to the people,” said John.

He said, "The Opposition needs to make more forceful interventions and there should be no more soft corner for the Vijayan government. There are numerous scams.

“The UDF should come out from the present strategy of issuing mere press statements when an issue surfaces. The people should gain confidence that the opposition is serious and it should ensure that all people’s issues are taken up with more vigor,” said John, adding that his party is coming out with a series of protests against the Vijayan government.
