New Delhi, April 1 (IANS) Reigning Men’s T20 World Cup champions India will tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in July, said Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Wednesday. The games are scheduled to be played on July 23, 25 and 26 at Harare Sports Club, all starting at 4:30 pm IST.

The two sides last met in February during the Super Eight stage of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in Chennai, where India won by 72 runs. India last visited Zimbabwe in July 2024 for a five-match T20I series right after winning the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, which they won by 4-1.

Zimbabwe, who reached the Super Eight stage at the 2026 T20 World Cup after topping Group B that included Australia and Sri Lanka, will look to build on that momentum from the mega event. India, meanwhile, will arrive in Zimbabwe after playing T20I series against Ireland and England.

“Matches against India always generate enormous interest, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against the world champions on home soil.

“Following our encouraging performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, this series gives us a strong platform to build momentum and continue growing as a competitive force in international cricket,” said ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni.

The BCCI had previously announced that Zimbabwe will tour India in January 2027 for a three-match ODI series, making it their first bilateral trip to India since March 2002. The three matches will be played in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai on January 3, 6 and 9, respectively.

Makoni expressed delight over Zimbabwe being back to touring India for a bilateral series after a long time. “It is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe to be touring India again for a bilateral ODI series after more than two decades. India is one of the premier destinations in world cricket, and this tour represents both an honour and a valuable opportunity for our players.

“We are looking forward to competitive and high-quality cricket, and we believe this engagement will further strengthen the relationship between the two cricketing nations while providing invaluable exposure for our team,” he added.
