Chandigarh, June 3 (IANS) Haryana has set up a seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Inspector General of Police Bharti Arora to investigate immigration fraud cases in the state, Home Minister Anil Vij said.

Nazneen Bhasin, Rahul Sharma, Himanshu Garg, Lokendra Singh, Shashank Kumar and Mohit Handa are other members of the SIT which will investigate and take action against those found guilty in fraudulently sending people abroad and human trafficking in the state.

Vij said that the US had deported 135 Indians on May 19, of which 75 are residents of Haryana.

As many as 73 FIRs were filed subsequently, which are being investigated thoroughly.

He said similar cases could also be reported from other countries.

"So, we have constituted the SIT to investigate such fraud cases," he said.

This will help put a check on duping of people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

"Any victim of such fraudulent practice can contact the SIT," the Minister added.
