Kolkata, Nov 12 (IANS) One person was killed and two others injured in a shootout between two factions of ruling Trinamool Congress early on Thursday morning in West Bengal's West Burdwan district, police sources said.

The incident took place following a clash in the Khashkojowara colliery area on Wednesday night over coal-handling dispute.

The sources said Dharambir Nuniya was killed by miscreants from the rival group. Two others injured during the shootout were admitted to a private hospital in Durgapur.

Angry area residents staged a demonstration outside the Andal police station to demand the immediate arrest of the assailants.
