Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested a woman village revenue officer (VRO) while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a farmer for issuing Pattadar Passbook at Kapparla village in Tamsi mandal on Friday.
ACB DSP M Kiran Kumar said that the accused public servant was Rathod Kavita, VRO of Kapparla village while the complainant Jajimoggala Srinivas, a farmer also hails from Kapparla. Kavita was trapped when she was collecting the money from Srinivas.
She allegedly harassed the farmer for giving the passbook, seeking the bribe. A vexed Srinivas approached the sleuths who in turn laid the trap. She will be produced before a special ACB court in Karimnagar on Saturday.
