54% percentage of the Passwords are easy.

New Delhi:About 98.9 per cent of the students studying in urban areas have been using the Internet,a survey has found.The Telecom Company has conducted a survey of 2,700 students across 13 cities across the country.It said that 54.6 percent of the students using the Internet use easy passwords.This makes it clear that the online scams are growing.Almost 54.82 percent of students said they shared their passwords with family members and friends.


The Telenor survey revealed that 83.5 per cent of students aged between 6 and 18 were active in social media. 35 per cent of all students said their accounts were hacking,only 15.74 per cent said they had received untrusted messages.


"India is the world's second largest Internet utility. Many users, especially children, face a cyber threat due to weak and easy-to-remember passwords. The survey was conducted on World Passwords Day to highlight the importance of passwords in digital world, "Telenor CEO Sharad Malhotra said.
