Minister Harish Rao about beedi workers program

: On Thuesday Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao informed that  Telangana state is the first state in the country which have been given pensions to the beedi workers. Here there is so many states people  who were engage in the collection of beedi leaves and rolling beedies in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal would also not getting any pensions. and none of these States intiated any welfare measure for the benefit of the beedi workers.


 


         Here on Tuesday  Rao provided over pension certificates to 903 women in Siddipet town during a programme .From June month the pension process will be starts for women who got certificates from govt.  under this the women will get Rs 1,000 pension every month from June. Minister Rao  was informed about 3.5 lakh beedi workers were receiving pensions in Telangana and  In Siddipet district alone, some 43,000 people were receiving a pension. The Minister took part in several developments works on a hectic day in Siddipet district. After completion of this programme He also attended an Ifthar party at Husnabd on Tuesday late evening.
