A senior meteorologist says the south west monsoon is set to enter Punjab and Haryana including Chandigarh in next three days. These two states are already experiencing pre-monsoon rains.
Director of the Chandigarh MeT department, Surinder Pal told, "Conditions are favourable for monsoon's further advancement northwards approaching Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh in the next three days and monsoon will fully cover the two states including the Union Territory within the next few days once it hits the region.” Punjab and Haryana are considered as the grain bowl states of the country. These 2 states had experienced very low scale of rain fall in the past 2 years. However, MeT department says that unlike last two years, these two states will experience good rains.
