Abidjan, Nov 27 : King Mohammed VI of Morocco is paying a working and friendly visit to Cote dIvoire, during which he will also participate in the 5th African Union-European Union Summit.
The AU-EU summit is to be held on November 29-30 in Cote d'Ivoire's economic capital Abidjan.
Earlier, at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny airport, the King was greeted by Ivorian President Alassane Dramane Ouattara, who was accompanied by Côte d'Ivoire's First Lady Dominique Claudine Ouattara. The King is accompanied by Prince Moulay
Rachid and Prince Moulay Ismail.
The royal visit to Côte d'Ivoire, a member country of the Economic Community of West African States, also reflects the determination of Morocco to join the grouping. Two months after its return to the African Union in January this year, Morocco had applied for membership of ECOWAS as a full member.
