New Delhi, May 17: The court today set up a case against Aam Aadmi Party legislator Som Dutt during the 2015 Assembly election campaign. Metropolitan Magistrate Ruby Neeraj Kumar Dutt accused of alleged abuse, illegal resistance, voluntary abuse under Indian Penal Code and abusive assembly. After the accused pleaded not guilty and claimed trial, the court listed the matter for July 27 for recording statement of prosecution witnesses in the case.
The court also issued summons to complainant Sanjeev Rana as witness in the case. Rana has alleged that during the campaigning at Gulabi Bagh in north Delhi, Som Dutt with his supporters hit him on the legs with a baseball bat. Dutt's supporters hit him on the road and hit him with a serious injury after the argument between them. After complaining of ña, the Delhi Police filed a first report against the AAP leader. Dutt, MLA from Sadar Bazar assembly constituency, denied these allegations.
