PM Narendra Modi Pens a note for Late Gen Bipin Rawat

Narendra Modi tweeted "Gen Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier. A true patriot, he greatly contributed to modernising our armed forces and security apparatus. His insights and perspectives on strategic matters were exceptional. His passing away has saddened me deeply. Om Shanti."

A terrible crash took place in Tamil Nadu (Tamil Nadu). An Army helicopter carrying General Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defence Staff of India, crashed in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. According to the information received at present, CDS Bipin Rawat's wife Madhulika Rawat has lost her life. His condition seems to be critical.

The Passengers in the helicopter include General Bipin Rawat, Mrs. Madhulika Rawat, Harinder Singh, Guru Sevak Singh, aJitendra Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Sai Teja and Satpath.

The accident took place between Coimbatore and Coonoor. 14 people were on board including Bipin Rawat, his crew and family members. General Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defence Staff, his wife and 11 others have died in the crash. GC Capt Varun Singh with injuries is currently under treatment at Military Hospital, Wellington.
