Minister Ganguly says Telangana sets new record in paddy collection
National | Suryaa | Published :Despite all the obstacles faced by the central government, the Telangana government has set a new record in paddy collection during the Rainy season. Minister for Civil Supplies G Kamalakar said that the exercise for collection of paddy was almost complete as per the targets set by the Center.
The Center has set a target of procuring 46 lakh quintals of rice equivalent to 68.65 lakh quintals of paddy. Telangana procured 65.20 lakh metric tons of paddy till January 3. The minister said at a meeting on Tuesday that the government was ready to purchase additional stocks of paddy coming to the purchasing centers.
