Out of 5500 cases, 80% are Omicron cases - DOH

Today on 4th Jan around 5,500 Covid-19 cases were reported in Delhi. In Delhi, the infection rate rose to 8.37 per cent. The Department of Health at 4pm said that 5481 new cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

So far 14,63,701 patients have been diagnosed with corona in Delhi. Of these, 14, 23,699 people recovered. 25,113 people died. There are currently 14,889 active cases.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BJP MP also tested positive.
It is a matter of concern that 80 per cent of the cases registered in Delhi are Omicron variant cases. The Delhi government has set up 2992 containment zones across Delhi.

The Delhi government is enforcing yellow alert sanctions, including weekend curfew and night curfew, as corona cases rise. Cinema halls and gyms are closed. The government has ordered the opening of even-odd shops for essential goods and a 50% reduction in passenger seating capacity in metros and buses.
